Mac-Weld, Inc.
Mac-Weld, Inc.'s new website, at www.macweldinc.com, highlights this machine and welding shop's history of serving southern Illinois, southeast Missouri and southwest Indiana since 1987. The website colors play off the Mac-Weld logo's red and white rounded letters, with black and grey added for accents. Mac-Weld provided a variety of photos of their machinery, showroom, owners and staff, creating a colorful website that makes what they do instantly recognizable on every page. The addition of descriptive text content filled with search engine keywords and phrases that their customers will use to find them makes this site a real workhorse for Mac-Weld. MacWeldInc.com is an APSAIL of Illinois WEB Connect website.

Modern Brake and Alignment's new website, www.ModernBrake.com, features the services that make Modern Brake the "best in Central Illinois at collision chassis repair" - all within a one-page website format. The colors are taken from the shop's exterior and existing branding. The NAPA logo and a photo of the business are featured, with directions and an embedded Google map to help customers find Kevin's location, which can be challenging since his business address doesn't appear on the map. Additional work done for Modern Brake included submission to local Google and Yahoo listings for Lincoln, IL. ModernBrake.com is an APSAIL of Illinois WEB Connect website.
Enos Park Neighborhood Improvement Association
The Enos Park Neighborhood Improvement Association is dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of the Enos Park historic neighborhood in Springfield, IL. The association was ready to take their already extensive website to the next level as they begin Phase II of a multi-phase redevelopment plan and launched an LLC to allow the association to hold property for future development. O3 helped the EPNIA by converting their static design website and content into a content management system (CMS) to allow EPNIA volunteers to maintain the site with content reflecting the exciting and ongoing changes in the neighborhood. The design was refined and tweaked to be used for the CMS. The CMS allows the EPNIA to upload before & after and historical photos, to feature a monthly sponsor, to promote their initiatives, and to publicize fundraisers and events.
Voelker Litigation Group
www.voelkerlitigationgroup.com
Voelker Litigation Group is a new legal practice in Chicago, IL representing clients in business and other disputes. VLG needed a website to reflect their no-nonsense professionalism and provide accurate information on their services. The client also wanted the site to have some personality, and subtle baseball references were used to add interest and reflect the ground-breaking research done by the founding partner on the Chicago Black Sox of 1919. The home page background has a subtle textured design comprised of tiny baseball diamonds, and historical baseball quotes on winning are highlighted in boxes with a baseball diamond background. Rotating images on the home page contain the VLG unique values combined with imagery of Chicago and courtroom scenes. The site was launched in just 4 weeks from start to finish.
Decatur and Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation
The DMC Animal Shelter Foundation needed a website as fresh and energetic as the volunteers who are dedicated to helping animals in Decatur and Macon County Illinois. A new logo was created along with eye-catching banners for action items, and the new site design is more modern and professional. The new site got a real boost when professional Los Angeles pet photographer and Decatur native Seth Casteel provided fantastic photos of shelter dogs, which we used for the home page sliders. Indeed, one of those dogs became the O3 mascot and expert squirrel alerter shortly before the site went live.

O3 gave the Foundation a content management system to make it easy for volunteers to keep the site fresh and to publicize their fun events to raise money to help animals at the county shelter. A random selection of photos of adoptable DMCASF animals on PetFinder are automatically displayed on the sidebar of every page. Use of PetFinder photos avoids dual input of adoptable animals on the site, ensures the animals are always up-to-date, and provides a way for visitors to link to Petfinder to find more adoptable DMCASF pets. The Donate page was updated to accommodate designated donations, and the site navigation was made consistent and more usable. We are grateful for the opportunity to be able to support the DMCASF, everyone at the Macon County shelter, and especially to help dogs and cats find new homes.
Abraham Lincoln Unitarian Universalist Congregation
As the ALUUC congregation has grown, the church’s website needed to grow, too. The website project began with research about other UU congregation websites. A meeting with church leaders and interested members resulted in a reorganized website with more focus on church visitors and newcomers but with easy-to-find information for current members and friends.
The new design reflects this green congregation’s commitment to environmental awareness and open, welcoming perspective. At the top of the home page, images slide onto the page to highlight important aspects of congregational life. Chalice icons are used to draw attention to major areas of interest that are featured front-and-center in four boxes with links to more information. On the home page, the next Sunday service topic and next church-wide event appear, refreshed automatically as dates change and new events are added.
Expanded and reorganized content is easier to find via horizontal drop-down menus for visitors and a right-column filled with links for member interests. Church events now appear in several categories including Sunday services, church-wide and small groups. All events for the current month can be seen, with links to more detail. O3 provided a new updated content management system for faster and easier updates by a team of volunteers, including event posting, photo albums and newsletters. This allows more up-to-date information to be published to better enable ALUUC to fulfill its mission. And because the chosen CMS is particularly easy to learn to use, the website will still be maintained as volunteers change.

A content management system enabled Healthy Springfield volunteers to input initial content as the 10.10.10 event details were confirmed and later to maintain the site after the initial event. WordPress was customized with the group’s logo and a color palette to compliment the logo and the goals of the group.
