About Me
I'm Carol Kneedler, the owner and primary developer of O3 Consulting. Please read about my business experience and skills below. I also work with a great group of web designers, developers and computer / networking companies to provide quality services to my clients.
O3 Internet Consulting
I started O3 Internet in 2007, and I specialize in planning and delivering websites that are practical, functional and affordable. A supportive and predictable process saves you time and money. My websites are well-organized and written, easy to find through search engines and easy for your site visitors to use. In short, they work. The result is a website that meets your goals.
Business owners and non-profit organizations don't always know how to create an effective website or don't have time to do it as well as they would like. I help them by using their input to create websites that are appealing to site visitors and focused on website goals. I like to get to know my clients so I can anticipate and meet their needs quickly. That way they can focus on their goals, making them more productive and successful.
Business Management
I have over 20 years' experience planning, managing and implementing website and software projects. My previous business experience includes seven years managing an 18-person Web Services Division at a Springfield, IL consulting firm, overseeing sales, graphic design, application development, hosting and project management teams. Other experience includes web database and application design and development, information architecture and usability, and security analysis and planning for web-based applications.
I have owned several small businesses. I believe in hard work, and I am a "practical perfectionist". I value long-term relationships and understand the importance of reputation and character for business success.
Website Development, Usability, Information Architecture
While at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL, I created an intranet-based workflow system, including usability and user group testing and training. I completed my M.A. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Springfield with specific focus on usability and testing.
I've specialized in web development for more than 15 years, and I know that the only given in the Internet world is that things will change. You are focused on your business or organization, and you need a partner who will provide trusted advice on how you can avoid mistakes, rework and expensive and time-consuming maintenance. My work and recommendations are grounded in real-world technical and business experience.
Business Software Analysis and Programming
For six years I worked as a professional programmer supporting financial services divisions, first at Franklin Life Insurance Company (now American General) supporting agent commissions and mutual fund EDI processing, and then at Prudential Home Mortgage (now Wells Fargo) supporting mortgage banking business units.
I have experience with a variety of businesses and non-profits. I understand that one size does not fit all and the importance of listening to and really hearing your needs and goals. I will work hard to understand and empathize with your unique needs and provide solutions that fit you.
Non-Profit & Association Work
I currently serve as the Secretary of the MacArthur Boulevard Business Association (MBBA), am a member of the Capital Area Independent Business Alliance (CAIBA) and Inner City Older Neighborhoods (ICON.) I've held various leadership roles for my church, including two years as Board President. I consult and maintain websites for a variety of non-profit community organizations, including churches, fundraising groups, unions and fraternal organizations, trade associations, shelters and non-profit events. I believe I have a responsibility to give back to the community that supports me and to use my skills to help make the world a better place.
